Gottfried Medical is a second generation, family owned and operated Ohio corporation. The company was formed by Max Gottfried in 1981. Max believed a lower cost and longer life made-to-measure compression garment could be made without reducing its quality or compromising its efficacy.
With three employees in 1,000 square feet of space, he proved he was right and so in 1981 Gottfried Medical, Inc. was born. His dream lives-on in our 12,000 square foot manufacturing facility and corporate offices in suburban Toledo, Ohio, at 2920 Centennial Rd.

What We Do
Since our inception our business has been the engineering and manufacturing of medical devices. We specialize in made-to-measure compression garments, including: stockings and sleeves. The majority of these products aid in controlling numerous vascular conditions and lymphedema.
We also manufacture compression garments specially engineered to suppress and control hypertrophic scarring, resulting (most often) from serious burn injury. Please browse our Website, contact us or visit us anytime, Monday through Friday, 8am - 6pm, Eastern time.
Our products are only available through our Worldwide dealer network as well as hospitals and clinics. We do not sell directly to patients or consumers. All products require a prescription.

Our 30 year success story is due (in large part) to our customer service. Even today, every call Gottfried Medical receives is answered by a person. No voicemail, no buttons to push. In our newest facility, we invested in state-of-the-art fiber optics for even more efficient communication both internally and with our customers.
Although we have charted a modest growth every year since our inception in 1981, it’s not just about getting bigger. As we grow, we are constantly evaluating our methods and workflow. Our new facility provides the added space we need to accommodate the staff and equipment necessary to meet the increased demand. By design, the facility has also allowed us to streamline some of our operations, thereby increasing our efficiency, so that we may continue to provide the delivery service our customers have come to expect.

We provide training on how to measure, fill-out order forms and transfer the measurements in preparation of an order. Our supports and garments are available with numerous special options and in various colors. All Made-to-Measure products are backed by a generous guarantee and return policy.

Gottfried Medical works closely with physicians, surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, hospitals and clinics, prosthetic and orthotic suppliers and home health equipment dealers. These relationships have lead to the joint development of other specialized products.

Treat & manage dermal scarring
Other Products
In 2002 we introduced Ensil® Fabric, for use in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scarring. This product is used in our burn garments whenever an order specifies a Silicone textile. It can be ordered by the linear foot for use by other manufacturers.
