Since our inception over 40 years ago, our business has been the design and manufacturing of medical devices. We specialize in made-to-measure compression garments for the entire patient. The majority of these products aid in controlling numerous venous insufficiency and lymphedema, as well as garments specially designed to suppress and control hypertrophic scarring, resulting (most often) from serious burn injury.

In addition to the products we design and produce,Gottfried Medical provides training on how to measure, fill-out order forms and transfer the measurements in preparation of an order.

Gottfried Medical works closely with physicians, surgeons, physical and occupational therapists, hospitals and clinics, prosthetic and orthotic suppliers and home health equipment dealers. These relationships have led to the joint development of other specialized products.

  • Gradient Pressure

    Custom compression garments designed for venous insufficiency assist weak or damaged veins with the circulation of blood. Also, they help reduce and control swollen and bulging veins associated with this condition. These garments are designed to exert gradient pressure, mimicking the action of the veins as they move blood toward the heart. Gradient pressure is highest at the distal end reducing in gradient to the proximal end.

40 - 50Lymphedema (moderate), chronic venous insufficiency, stasis dermatitis (severe), lymphedema (severe), chronic venous insufficiency (severe), orthostatic hypotension (moderate).
50 - 60Orthostatic hypotension (severe), postthrombosis (severe), intractable edema.
Contraindications
Non-ambulatory use, severe arterial insufficiency, cutaneous infection, acute hypodermatitis, wet dermatoses.

Transform your scarring with Ensil® fabric, a revolutionary medical grade silicone sheet integrated with a 2-way stretch textile, offering proven results in preventing and improving hypertrophic and keloid scarring.

ENSIL Fabric Policy Change

Effective October 16, 2023, replacement garment orders will no longer receive credit for the cost of the Ensil lining. The Ensil lining in the replacement garments will be charged at the full current price.

How to Avoid Being Charged for Ensil Fabric a Second Time

Do not initially order your first garment with Ensil Fabric. After fit is confirmed or adjustments so indicated, mark the location for the Ensil, then return the garment for the Ensil to be added to the replacement garment.

Manage hypertrophic and keloid scarring with Ensil® silicone fabric

Ensil® silicone fabric is a soft, yet durable, medical grade silicone sheet bonded to a 2-way stretch textile. Silicone (in this form) has been shown to prevent and/or improve hypertrophic and keloid scarring resulting from burns, trauma or surgical procedures.

Ensil fabric requires no special or additional care and does not affect the prescribed compression. It is non-invasive a and economical, compared to other similar silicone products.

Ensil fabric may be used on any area of the body and without additional tape or other bandaging when used over joints and contractures.
